For youth ages 8-12 years old. This 4- class course takes place over Zoom and is taught by Gina Simms. This is for students already actively auditioning, and meant to spiral up your self taping skills. Master the art of the audition self tape and callback. Class runs for 1.5-2 hours each class. This online class is great for students looking to learn the following: ● How to analyze and a break down a script with little information ● How to find the "who am I" (character) in each role you audition for ● How to handle auditions for different types of genres (dramas, sitcoms, fantasy, sci-fi, etc) ● How to ground yourself without props and a set ● What to do when scenes call for physicality and action ● How to take direction and interpret notes from directors and casting ● How to use yourself fully and ace the audition regardless of being “right” for the role The studio is happy to work with families who need to break up payments into multiple installments. This class takes place over Zoom and is taught by Gina Simms. Youth Acting Class is a 3 week "Actor's Gym" meeting twice a week where students work specifically and correctly. Scenes are given during class with no homework, and nothing to prepare before class begins. Students are redirected in their second read and will learn how to properly take direction (whether it be from casting or a director on set) without getting in their heads and losing authentic connection. This course is dedicated to the working actor between jobs to keep their acting muscles in shape! Young artists strengthen script analysis, and in a short time behave truthfully with full connection to the material. The performer’s ability to bring themselves to any role given is the goal of this course. Prerequisite: Acting Technique. Break down a scene with little time. Gain confidence with new material.
