"The SELF" in Your Self-Tape (Formerly offered as "Acting & the Camera: Part Two", now available to all actors and offered in-tandem with Acting & the Camera!) Acting is a verb. The audition is an event. As actors, we need to develop ease in front of the camera. The key to this is personalization which requires us to include ourselves while also imagining beyond our own experiences. You will learn to work in detail, so you can then learn what we must prioritize when it comes time to working efficiently and productively. The amount of time you have to prepare determines the scope of your investigation. The character always begins with “The Self”. 1 of 2 prerequisites for ongoing/advanced study with Marilyn McIntyre! For youth ages 11-14 years old! Advanced Audition for Film & TV, is a 4 class course and is taught by Gina Simms. A fast paced and stamina building course for students auditioning regularly. We focus on mastering the self tape audition and in class exercises. New scripts and lessons are offered each course. Students work correctly with redirects and identify quickly what casting is asking for. Class runs for 1.5- 2 hours each class. Prerequisite: Intermediate Acting Class ● Get a Birds Eye view into casting ● Learn how to breakdown challenging material ● Use yourself authentically ● Personalize the details ● Find the why behind the words ● Learn how to handle the physicality of a self tape The studio is happy to work with families who need to break up payments into multiple installments.
